The new trend in Hindi Filmi Music

Bollywood has seen a great transition in last few years as long as music is concerned. Today's music directors play the role of a 'Music Contractor'. They 'build' the music and they chose their 'labours' as well. The whole Music Composition for a movie has become a turn-key project for a Music Director. That is leading to lot of compromise on the quality of the singers. Most of the directors are going for less renowned, less skilled singers who are ready to do the job at a much lesser price providing opportunity to the director to keep bigger margins.

Thanks to today's advanced technologies lot of poor qualities get hidden. Still it is a pain for real music lovers. Even today any song of Lata Mageshkar, Asha Bhonsle, Mohd. Rafi or Kishore Kumar reaches our heart because those music were pure and honest. Today's songs make us dance but goes our of our mind the moment it stops. Today's music works on our brain but hardly reaches our heart.

It is unfortunate to see singers like Sonu Nigam, Shaan or Kunal Ganjawala are earning through stage shows and we are listening to some 'very ordinary' voices in all music albums. Thankfully there is not much alternatives available for female singers hence we are getting some opportunity to listen to the voices of Shreya Ghoshal and Sunidhi Chouhan.

The whole band culture has changed the choice of music a lot to the Indian young generation. Is it good or bad - that is debatable. There is no problem in having followers of different types of music. But that does not mean that we will destroy our so rich hindi filmi music.
