The impatient generation

The most valuable thing what we have lost in our generation is patience. We can not stand in a queue if there are 10 people in front of us. We can not wait for a bus to come so we chose to buy a vehicle. We are ready to pay bribe to avoid any kind of 'waiting' in life.

We blame it on our fast lifestyle but I think it has happened more because of the way we were brought up. We struggled a lot less for getting a high paid job compared to our previous generation. And we think we are class apart hence we have got all these in our life. In the very core of our mind we feel we are very special...we are genius. So all of us feel that we deserve special treatment.

Its a generation of self-acclaimed VIPs. Its a generation of capitalists influenced by push marketing. Everyone thinks he is a born CEO and should be treated like that even if he has not reached that level yet.

But this lack of patience will have serious consequences in our society. This attitude is not only hampering our social or community life but our personal life too. There is no alternative of patience when 120 crores of population is fighting for basic necessities of life. Meditation or yoga can be a good way to bring in more patience in us. We should learn to 'wait' for our turn to come.

  1. Thats very nicely written. I too agree that we have become quite impatient. But to tell u the truth, I have stood in lines for everything for filling up college forms, paying fees, for applying for passport, paying electricity and light bills and so many other things that I am now completely fed up. Apart from that, we are now used to doing a lot of things online and have gotten used to the 'luxury' of online tansactions. Hence the impatience.
