Thou Didi...you too !!

Alas !! We hoguht CPI(M) was the worst possible Political Party to rule West Bengal. We thought Jyoti Basu or Buddhadeb bhattacharya were the worst example of 'snob'. Bengalis are so privileged to see that there are so many more things in store for them.
Ms. Mamata Banerjee is showing the heights of 'Double Standard', 'Egoism' and 'Escapist' attitude. From the earlier Railways ministry days she always blames CPM for everything bad but she could never provide any proof for those allegations.
Why cant she provide proof that CPM has been trying to malign her or her government's image inspite of having the highest power in the state? It shows how poor an administrtor she is.
She won over CPM because of her people interface and honest image. In just 8 months we are seeing 'double standard' in these areas. Not only she is denying to stand by the recent rape victim she is pressurizing the Police to dance in her tunes. It is not much ago that she went into a police station to make her own people free when they were accused of beating CPM members during a procession. Is this the honesty we expected from you Didi?
She believes in politics by 'gimmick'. She tries to portray even her smallest success as a Nobel Prize worthy act but she does not have guts to accept that there are problems which CPM is not creating always and she needs to take responsibilities to solve them.
She has done enough damage by sending Tata back from Singur. No one in West Bengal has got benefitted from that whole incident except her. She got the political mileage and won over it. It is high time she repays the void she created in Bengal's industrial growth. She needs to come out of her stand on Land Acquisition Act. Rather than wasting electricity in creating Kolkata 'London' she should arrange electricity for the industries. The state will not go anywhere just by playing Rabindra Sangeet in traffic signals.
I like to hope that with time she will be more matured and we will not repent for electing her as a substitute of CPM in West Bengal. Otherwise we have to call back CPI(M) and then in next 50 years West Bengal will go down under the sea.

Our expectation from TMC

We Bengalis have the problem of becoming too happy at times. I heard from my parents that Bengalis celebrated like crazy when CPM came into power in late seventies. Today we are going through a phase where all of us are too happy with the recent change in West Bengal governance.

No doubt it has given us an impetus to be hopeful again after a miserable 30 years political disaster in West Bengal. But it is too early to judge anything at this point of time. All of us need to be practical and keep our initial expectations low.

It will not be easy for any new government (where most of the Ministers hardly have any prior experience to run a state) to successfully implement anything they want. It needs lot of administrative sense & qualities of the governing bodies to do any successful implementation. I am not saying this government can not do. I am saying that lets plan for long term. Give them enough time to plan & execute. But lets not go for short term gains to get public sentiment in favour.

We have seen in Gujarat and Bihar that how much changes have taken place after a good government has come into power. But Narendra Modi has taken 2 tenures to bring in the major changes. half of his initiatives could not get completed in his first tenure.

We are all hopeful to see a much improved Bengal but please do not expect to see and try to prove such improvement until 2014-2015.

High Court verdict on Singur Land Acquisition Act

Finally Kolkata High Court has given its verdict on Singur Land Acquisition Act. Thank God they did it on a fast track.

Now since the verdict has gone in favour of the Government its time to think about its future effects.
Should any government be allowed to release all lands being acquired by the previous government and distribute it to the original owners?

Why an industrial organization be punished because of the feud between two political parties?
If the government has the power to take back all the lands then they should do it at the cost of pating back the present owners. The rates may be debatable but where is the logic of poaching the land from an industry which has already paid to the previous government.

While it is definitely a good news for the deprived poor population it is a disastrous decision for any industry's investment. There would not be any question had the land been directly acquired by the industrial Organisation. But these lands were acquired by the previous government and were handed over to the organisation at a cost.

This case will anyway go to Supreme Court and I hope the final decision is made keeping all probable future implications in mind.
